Richcoast was not a failure. due to their main financial backer having health problems (THAT I CONFIRMED), they chose it would be best to leave the industry. after about a year of operation, they had a solid foundation and reputation. there was no sense in just paying everyone and closing the doors. at that point, they decided to find someone who would want to take over.

richcoast had around 40% of player obligations sitting in their merchant accounts. based on that alone, this book could have easily kept operating business as usual. believe me, many books have done so in much worse condition.

sportsbookreview is a powerful entity and they know it. their FALSE REPORTS AND LIES regarding this situation jeopardized all of the players with money in richcoast. They did this for one reason. They wished to hurt the credibility of TOW and the endorsed rookie program here. this was the second attempt to destroy the reputation of an endorsed rookie book in the last week since TOW decided not to continue our advertising campaign with sbr. the first attempt was when they reported a slow pay, that just happened to be one of their moderators was the ONLY person who was being slow paid.

anyone who has read the shitty comments at sbr in the last week about TOW can surely see how agenda driven they have been. In all the years i have worked in this industry, i have NEVER seen anyone so carelessly try to intentionally hurt players.

The reason this situation took so long to resolve, was because the original new owners backed out when sbr damaged the richcoast name with their lies. Had sbr NOT posted their false reports, richcoast players would have been withdrawing, depositing, and placing wagers business as usual the same day that the site went down.

All I know is I always check SBR's rating and if it is below a certain point I wont join unless I know specific information that makes me feel safe there. I have never, ever been stiffed over quite a long period of time - SBR is very useful and I will continue to avoid books rated lowly at SBR. They are also always very helpful when I have a question about a book I don't use or have a complaint about one I do - they even helprd get intertops to uncancel an in-game wager and they ended up giving me a bonus.

nimue,

their ratings are based completely on what books they have a good sheet with.

for instance, they rate legendz low because they are in the red with them....

I have assumed for a long time that some of the higher ratings are based on advertising money, obvious VIP is not as good as pinnacle....but they do not rate shitty books well, they do not give good ratings to books that slow pay or cheat customers, and I remain extremely comfortable in probably any book rated B- or higher. As always, do your own homework before joining anywhere though.

don't get me wrong, i like intertops, but intertops neteller went dry for 10 days earlier this year and sbr only took them down to a c, and raised them right back to a b+ a couple months later.

they recently had a poker site rated the best in the industry because they had the best affiliate deal. that same poker site ended up ripping off some of their players.

if you post here at rx, stick with their books that advertise here. it's a VERY good group now a days!!!

Intertops is not the book it used to be (these days they are afraid to take action from sharps), but I would feel safe with my money there - and would have during the dry neteller period. I would not have intertops under a C either, are you saying you would have? Now, I would criticize millennium C-, a book that advertises here, as they are cheaters who try to screw with winners. Millennium is a D- in my opinion.

i like intertops a lot actually, but what im saying is that if sbr didnt have such a great sheet with them, they would have been lowered more than a c. and they would have stayed there a lot longer....

I think SBR is overall quite good but they are definitely not agenda-free. They might be the 2nd or 3rd best place to get info. about which are the best books, the best being Fishhead's occasional consensus threads on the Rx.

I guess the rookie project books don't get special treatment since they are paying for advertising?

no, of course not, they are all "top tier"
